EYFS
Using Interactive On Screen software
Children use interactive software such as Busy Things, Red Fish or Simple City to make choices and see the results of their on screen interaction
Using Cameras for CLLD
Through the use of cameras to record experiences in a shared and meaningful context children are encouraged to use language to recreate experiences, retell stories, extend their vocabulary, clarify their thinking, sequence events and interact with others.
Control - Introduction to the Beebots
Introduction to control language and programming to make the Beebot follow instructions
KS1
Developing Fiction and Non-Fiction Writing.
Developing literacy and IT skills using 2create a story or 2publish+. Stories can be authored and retold, topics can be explained, images and photos can be added to posters, booklets, newspaper articles. 2create a story even allows the addition of sound effects!
Control Year 2 (Half day Year 1)
Children will learn to control simple robots (BeeBots) using basic programming and explore directional language and giving instructions. They will move onto on-screen activities using BeeBot software. Year 2 children will use more advanced planning and programming tasks using BeeBots and ProBots.
Animation for KS1
Using 2animate pupils will plan a visual story and illustrate it. This will be made into an on-screen animation telling their story. Most topics can be used.
Game Design
Use 2DIY to create a platform game to create a multi-level quiz to consolidate learning on any topic
KS2
Quest Stories, Myths and Legends
Pupils will explore on-screen Quest Stories and Myths and Legends from around the world and then create their own stories using an interactive website. They can drag in backgrounds, characters and objects; add different types of speech and thought bubbles, record themselves telling their story, add sound effects to objects and characters and record voices for different characters. These multimedia stories can be published online in a safe, moderated website and continued at home or school.
Poetry Movies
Pupils create a movie retelling poems they have studied or written. The pupils create or import pictures about their poem using Photostory/2create a story or Superstory (depending on age of pupils) and add animation and multimedia.
Robotics for Years 3-4 (Lego Wedo)
Program and create a working model with simple machines, gears, levers, pulleys, transmission of motion. Design and test the program and use feedback to adjust the output
Robotics for Years 5-6 (Lego Mindstorms)
Build and program smart robots using industry standard programming techniques. The outcome of this project is a program to control a robot.
Kar2ouche (Years 3-6)
Pupils create a multimedia presentation or story using Kar2ouche adding animation, sounds and other effects to illustrate a set topic. The outcome of this project is a Quicktime movie that can be played on any computer. History Topics include Egyptians, Romans, Vikings, Tudors, Victorians. Also available for PSHE topics
Programming On-Screen Effects (Years 4-6)
Using appropriate software pupils learn how to program computers to perform basic tasks. Pupils learn about trial and error and to refine their commands in order to get their desired results. KS2 pupils will use Scratch. The outcome of this project is an understanding of Programming and trial and error.
Comic Life (Years 3-6)
Pupils use a comic template to retell a story such as the history or PSHE topic that they are studying. They children can use digital cameras to take photos of themselves acting out the scenes before adding dialogue.
Fun with Spreadsheets (Years 5–6)
Based around a “Farmville” type activity pupils will plant crops, buy animals and explore variables like budgets and speed of growth using spreadsheet modelling.
Datalogging (Year 4–6)
Use the EcoLog XL Data Logger to complete an investigation or experiment into a problem involving use of temperature, light, sound, humidity or pressure sensors.

E -Safety Day
Years 2–4 - Pupils will follow the animated adventures of Captain Kara as she navigates though the seas of Internet safety. During the day they will look at issues surrounding the SMART rules, how to be safe online, deal with issues around social networking, instant messaging and games. They will create an electronic poster or information leaflet on the theme of e-safety to teach other children about what they have learned on the day.
Years 5 and 6 - Pupils enter the Cyber cafe and explore safe use of social Networking sites, Instant Messaging, issues around cyber-bullying and reliable Internet sources. They will complete a series of online and whole class activities. They will use their ideas to create a comic strip or information leaflet on the theme of e-safety.
