Maths in Motion
This project involves working with a Maths based Motor Racing simulation program called ‘Cars - Maths in Motion’. Teams of pupils measure and evaluate a Grand Prix circuit and plan a set up for a Formula 1 car. They then devise a race strategy and calculate safe speeds for the different elements of the track plan. Fundamentally the program places Maths within an exciting and interesting practical context; pupils experience using percentages, measuring angles, problem solving and arithmetic calculations involving distances.

Games Design
Students learn to use Mission Maker (a 3D games authoring tool) which enables them to then design, construct and play within a world they have created from scratch.
By designing their game students are provided a meaningful and engaging educational challenge. Students then assess whether or not playing well-constructed games encourages them to become active and reflective learners. This project affords students an opportunity to work with some of the latest games-based technology, and is also an opportunity for the CLC to see how this software could provide effective learning across a range of curriculum areas.
