Who is the course for?
Teachers and Teaching assistants working with diverse needs of pupils working in inclusive settings as well as those in specialised centres.

What will the course cover?

Session 1 (October 20th)

• Introduce delegates to the use of “Communicate in Print 2”, which replaces the Widgit programme “Writing with Symbols”.
• Hands on use of the symbol-supported desktop publishing package for creating visual timetables, signs, worksheets newsletters and posters
• Look at the wide variety of resources available from the Widgit web site to support the use of the new programme.

 Session 2 (November 10th)

• Introduce delegates to the use of “Symwriter”, part of the Communicate Series from Widgit
• Hands on exploration of simple word/symbol processing for emergent writers, and for pupils in inclusive settings
• Creating simple electronic books and resources
• Look at the wide variety of resources available from the Widgit web site to support the use of the programme.
